Which is better for home use with photography as hobby. Sony, Fujifilm S5700/5800 or Canon. Someone told me that FujiFilm digital cameras are really good. Please comment and compare. by cyadav
All three brands mentioned here are good. It would have been better if you could have mentioned your budget to purchase the digital camera. Fuji Film-FinePix S5700 is a very good digital camera. You can also check the Canon-PowerShot SX100 IS. by Surendra Shete

Planning to buy LCD in the range of 37"-42" & have shortlisted following choices 1) Samsung LA37A550 2) Sony KLV-40V300A 3) LG - 37LG30RA or LG Scarlet 42" (as 37" not launched as of now). While there are differences with respect to features is there any specific point or feature which I should consider/give more weight age before finalizing among above 4 models ?Please also let me know which of the above will be best buy for the given price? (I am looking at TV usage mainly for Sports & movies). by mylcd
Out of models chosen above LG Scarlet 42LG60FR seems value for money choice as it is 42 inch screen, Full HD resolution, high contrast ratio, faster response time, good design and finally ample connectivity options including 3 HDMIs and USB 2.0 supporting videos as well. Samsung LA37A550 is one the most affordable Full HD LCD TV in 37 inch size segment, but it is little small for Full HD performance. by Ganesh Pawar
Hi I am looking for a 5.1 home theater (budget 20-25K) with following features: * Plays xvid avi files (size 2GB+) * Plays avi from USB flash drive (4GB+), as well as USB hard disk (120GB+) * supports 720p/1080i upscaling. I have Samsung 100Hz 29" Z40 model which supports 720p/1080i, but no HDMI. * plays mp3 (uptill 320 kbps) from USB * Wireless speakers * Dolby, AC3 and DTS encoding Which would be a better choice, buying a home theater or an amplifier with speakers and DVD player separately? Also, can I watch 720p/1080i video from component cables? I have good quality Phillips component cable. I checked Sony DAV-DZ570 and Philips HTS3568DW/98. Which one is better? If you have other suggestions, please let me know. by hymarathe
For the parameters mentioned above by you, Philips HTS3568DW/98 is better choice, just its cost may be a deal breaker factor. Though it plays files from USB flash drives (music, movie, photo), but may not support USB HDD. While Sony DAV-DZ570 is also good DVD HTS having little less sound output, 2 tower speakers at front but its USB lacks video support as it only plays MP3 and JPEG photo files. by Ganesh Pawar
Kindly let me knowKindly let me know whether and, if yes, when would the Panasonic TC-26LX85 (latest 26" LCD TV) would be available here in India. Also, let me know of its expected price. Thanks so much. by cskwatra
Panasonic TC-26LX85 is not launched in India or any of the other Asian countries yet, seems to have launched in western markets. We are not sure when it will be launched in India, but we will surely update as soon as it is available. by Ganesh Pawar
Hello Ganesh, I would like to buy a 5.1 channel speaker system for my PC. I had short-listed Creative Gigaworks G500 as in my budget and meeting my requirements of a good sound output. (Its around Rs 16,000 but not easily available now) But, coincidently, I browsed for Home-Theater Systems and found that Sony DAV-DZ270 is 5.1 ch, has a better sound output (850 W) and an added DVD player and HDMI connectivity and costs around Rs 15,000. Is this 5.1 channel fake/virtual? or what is going on? Also, what are the other comparable models to Sony DAV-DZ270... Regards, by jagmeetsingh
DVD Home theater systems with 5.1 channel speaker configuration will give good (true) surround sound effect, as their DVD players have Dolby Pro Logic II, Dolby Digital and DTS sound decoders which give surround sound performance from most of the DVD titles played. They are almost similar to PC speakers and can match their performance. As you also know they are coupled with good quality DVD player, has built FM tuner, host of connectivity option including latest HDMI out makes them value for money choice. Sony DAV-DZ270 is good DVD HTS also has USB port for connecting compatible USB Devices, your other similar choices include Samsung HT-TX22 (600 W RMS), LG HT 502TH (500 W RMS) and Philips HTS3545 (1000 W RMS). But Sony has impressive line up of DVD HTS at various price points, promising audio clarity known from Sony. by Ganesh Pawar

Dear Sir, Thank you for your prompt reply. After discussing the same with my friends & relatives, they have advised me to go for RO, since water supply in our area i.e. Janak Puri is irregular. It comes hardly for 30-45 minutes in mornings and sometimes for 15 minutes in the evening. Moreover, we are having bore well also; hence 24 hour supply of water is available. Further, you have mentioned boiling water for kids. I am now bit confused, I would be grateful, if you could guide me whether to go for RO / E-boiling water purifiers / UV purifiers. Thank you, by bedims
Our earlier suggestion of UV water purifier was based on quality of water supplied by MCD. Now as per above mentioned post, it is evident that your source of water is not permanent, you keep switching between tap water and bore well water. You also seem to have confused between boiled water, E-boiling and UV water purification. Since kids have low immunity levels that is why we suggested boiled water (using traditional means), as water contamination levels are high in rainy season. Secondly e-boiling is term used by water purifier companies for their UV (Ultra Violet) purification, here water passes through UV light deactivating diseases causing bacteria/virus which company claims as good as boiled water, so the term e-boiling. As your water source is uncertain then you have choice of Eureka Forbes-AQUAGUARD TOTAL SENSA which has Ro and UV water purification methods, here it senses water quality and employs appropriate purification technology, for example when input water source is MCD it will use UV for purification, if source is bore well (higher TDS levels above 500 mg/ltr) then it will use RO (reverse osmosis) as purification technology. by Ganesh Pawar
