I bought this TV a week back. Want to know the best settings of color/brightness/contrast/resolution and sound settings and other settings for viewing the TV and viewing DVD movies. Please help. Thanks. by kaverao
If preset settings are not giving you desired picture performance then you can use user settings, though it has plenty of picture modes. Here you will probably find sweet spot between 65-75 for contrast and brightness, where as for backlighting keep it low jus upto the desired level. As for colour settings you can either select one from given preset menu or set it according to your viewing comfort. Since these settings are more of personal nature and depends upon individual perception, so set accordingly. by Ganesh Pawar
Please suggest me a best option to buy a refrigerator in 220-280 ltr capacity with price range around Rs 20,000. Which brand do you recommend Whirlpool or Samsung and which model? Do you recommend any other brands or models? by rohilnair
You can check models like LG 298LMG4, 265LM5, Whirlpool Mastermind 26 Elite and Samsung RT-28. by Priti Pandi
Kindly give me the comparison of automatic top loading machine with and without a in-built heater in terms of performance and efficiency and please suggest me the better option of the two with best models available in both categories. by vneetsharma
There are not many automatic top loading washing machines with inbuilt heaters. You can check Whirlpool-Eva H65. You will have a wide range of models with hot wash option without an inbuilt heater in top loading automatic models. You can choose one according to your capacity, brand and feature preference. by Priti Panadi
Thanks for the reply and clarification given. I have decided upon two TVs 1. VIERA TX-32LE8C from Panasonic and 2. 26PFL3403 from Philips. Although my budget is upto 38000 and I compared LG80FR/UR TVs I found picture clarity more in these two TVs. Panasonic had better colour variations than even Samsung 32" A450 model. The minute details like the earring or bracelet or necklace these small things and eye balls were more prominent in Panasonic and PHilips. The Philips one might be clear because of smaller size. My viewing distance is around 7-9 feet. Kindly suggest a good LCD TV if you feel there is any other TV apart from these two which I should consider which has good clarity. I am more worried about picture clarity as I already have a Home theater so not bothered bout sound much. Please reply and guide me through. by shatabda
For the mentioned viewing distance 32 inch LCD is better option, since you found Panasonic-TX-32LE8 impressive then we also suggest you to take a look at Panasonic-TX-32LX80 which has better LCD panel in the form IPS Alpha Panel having almost similar picture and connectivity features. by Ganesh Pawar

I have some problem about my handycam. I have Sony DCR-SR 65E handycam. I have made movie on it and when I play it on TV its looks very clear and sharp color but when I transfer it on my computer, the colour of the movie is very dim infact it looks blackish movie. All sharpness and clarity which I saw on TV is dissappeared on computer. I am afraid that if I make a DVD of that movie, it will also look dark. I dont know what to do. There is no option to make it clear coloured and nice sharp in the software came with the handycam. Please help me and tell me what the solution is. Please tell me as soon as possible because my work is pending because of that. Thank you very much. by maham butt
First of all you can try uninstalling the software from the computer and reinstall it again. As you mentioned that the video is fine when seen on TV, but not clear on computer. The best option would be to visit the nearest Sony Centre (former Sony World), as they have a ready setup where you can actually record the video and transfer the videos to the computer. DCR-SR65E supports HYBRID recording, where you can record video on the inbuilt hard drive and also on the memory stick. So, you can try recording the video on the memory stick also and then transfer that video to the computer and check the clarity. by Surendra Shete

I intend to buy Samsung LA40A550P1 if I get some comforting answers for the following. Our 90% watching on TV is thru DTH broadcast from tatasky. pl clarify 1) whether large screen LCD TVs can give good quality DTH viewing? 2) whether 100 / 120 HZ scan based LCD TV can give comparatively better DTH viewing experience? 3) if you still recommend only CRT TV for best DTH viewing-(am I wrong?). 4)can you suggest any 100/120 HZ scan CRT TV still available in the open market? 5) is there any difference in the quality of broadcast between tatasky, reliance, airtel DTH? 6) will Samsung la40a650p1 will be better than 550p1, because of 120hz scan rate, higher contrast ratio or it will be waste of money? Thanks by drahusain
Though DTH is considered to be better for TV broadcast than cable TV do not expect it to give best picture quality on new large screen LCD TVs but rest assure it will be satisfactory. TV broadcast is going to be better from now onwards, so you wont regret your decision to buy HDTV. Currently none of CRT Flat TV has 100Hz scan feature. As for this feature which is mostly available in high-end LCD TVs is definitely useful as it gives smooth flowing images without blurring or ghosting effect when watching fast moving picture like sports or action movie. Said that LCD TVs without 100Hz/120Hz motion technology will still give good performance as blurring or ghosting effect is depends upon individual tolerance level and it is generally not that noticeable. So if you are looking for budget choice then Samsung - LA40A550P1 is good choice in terms of contrast ratio, colour performance and connectivity. by Ganesh Pawar
Hi, Please suggest me a good, value for money "40 inch HD LCD TV". The primary application is watching High Definition movies, digital TV & little bit of gaming. Thanks, by sanjay_no
You can consider these choices Samsung - LA40A550P1, Sony KLV-40V400A or KLV-40S400A and LG 42LG80FR(Jazz Series) having high contrast ratio, faster response time and better connectivity. by Ganesh Pawar
Dear Surendra, Many thanks for replying to my query so promptly and suggesting to go for Sony DSC-W120. However, I was just going through its specs. and found that though it has 4X optical zoom it has only 2X digital zoom!! How this would effect the performance of the camera? Please clarify. Thanks. by vipul0210
While purchasing a camera one should always check the optical zoom but not the digital zoom. Optical zoom is the actual zoom to get the object closer. Digital zoom always plays the role but most of the times the image gets blurred. 4x optical zoom is more than enough for home purpose and also for outdoor purpose. by Surendra Shete
