For the most part, it is a forward-looking Budget. The strong emphasis on globalisation and liberalisation is welcome. The focus on education and healthcare sector is appreciable.
Overall the budget is good and would stimulate investment and consequently, the growth. We welcome the cut in the excise duty from 16% to 14 %. For us, this would lead to a marginal reduction in the product cost. However in the past few months, the input raw material costs have gone up by about 10 % and we were contemplating increasing our prices in the market. But this cut in excise duty will surely reduce the planned price increase marginally, and as a consequence, the customer will stand to benefit.
