Audio Systems
Very few of us can imagine life without music. Now even though portable devices like MP3 players and mobiles have made music more accessible, it hasn't taken away from the audio system. The idea of an audio system with all the jazz is still very appealing. But the choice isn't quite simple. Not only have players multiplied so have the features. Here are a few leaders to give you a clearer picture.

There are certain things that you need to figure out before making your choice. First, how loud do you want your music? This will determine your audio output. Second, available space—if you are cramped for space then a Hi-Fi music system replete with speakers may not fit in. You may have to go in for a mini or portable system. Thirdly, what features are you looking at? Do you want only CD/DVD audio, do you want cassette as well disc; do you want the latest ones with USB, DivX compatibility.
These factors will narrow your search.

BUDGET
This is most critical. The type of audio system you buy will ultimately depend on how much you are willing to spend. Ideally, it is good to have a rough budget in mind, but given the upgrade levels in audio systems, it is also necessary to be slightly flexible. The idea is to buy a system that suits you at a reasonable price. An audio system can cost you anywhere between Rs 925 to Rs 39,990.

TYPES OF AUDIO SYSTEMS
Hi-Fi system
Audio output: 500 watts
This type offers excellent audio output, surround sound and all the fanfare. This is, as the name suggests, a high-end audio system. So if you decide to buy this type, you need to be ready to lighten your wallet considerably. These are also available with DVD compatibility, enabling you to create home theatres. If you are a serious music lover and don't mind the extra expenditure, this is a must-buy system for you.

Audio output: 150 to 500 watts
A reasonably high audio output and additional features is what you can expect from this type. If you enjoy listening to music and are satisfied with a reasonably good audio output, a mini audio system would suit you just fine. Normally, a CD player can hold 1 or 3 CDs at a time.
