For obvious reasons, I decided to start off my photo expedition with the charming and magnificent Charminar. Needless to say, I was enthralled by the splendour of the engravings and wanted to capture these to the fullest detail. However, to do so, it was necessary to capture the mood of the lighting. This I achieved through the Daylight White Balance preset in the camera. The details captured by the D40 can be compared to that achieved by any high-end professional DSLR, thanks largely to the good quality lens supplied with the kit. The details of the motifs were captured razor sharp without any observable colour bleeding. The D40 handled the tonal variations very well, enhancing the shadows inside the structure and giving more depth to the images than many other DSLRs I have used in the same category.
