How to hone your photo skills
If creativity is your cup of tea, you have got to try these camera features

Exposure Compensation

Use this feature if you are sure that the meter is going to over or under expose the scene. For example, in back-lit situations (when the light is coming from the back of the subject), it is always desirable to give a +1 or + 1.5 compensation so that your subject is exposed correctly.

The accompanying photograph was taken in a tricky situation. Since white is dominant in the frame, any metering could have underexposed the scene. So I configured an exposure compensation of +1.5 EV to get both black and white correctly exposed. The situation is similar while capturing a snowy landscape.

QUICK TIPS
  • Microwave alert

Don't turn on when empty and avoid putting metal inside.

  • Remove debris

Clean your window AC's filter biweekly. If the debris is clogging cooling oils, hose off the back of the unit.

  • Dish cleaning

No need to prerinse dishes before putting them on the dishwasher. It doesn't improve cleaning.
