Flash Exposure Compensation This is a very useful feature in all digital cameras. You might have noticed that in some situations, the flash is so strong that your subject ends up getting ‘burnt out’. This happens mostly when the subject is very close to the camera. In such a situation, it is a good idea to reduce the flash intensity to -1/2 or -4/3.
In this photograph taken with the macro mode, the flash was too close to the subject. So I had to set a flash exposure compensation of -2/3.
