Who doesn't want a quick grub at home after a tedious day at work? A smart kitchen replete with the smartest of appliances ensures that for busy working professionals. But smart appliances might undergo a premature break down if you don't take care of them the way they want you to. In that case, you would have to shelve work to make a few trips to the service center to drop and pick your product - something you wouldn't necessarily like to go through. Here are a few steps to regularly clean and deodorize your microwave so that you're not struck by a sudden maintenance-thunderstorm!

Step 1: Mix 1 cup of water and 1/4 cup of vinegar in a microwave-proof bowl. The other options are mixing 1 cup of water and 1/3 cup of lemon juice or mixing 2-3 teaspoons of baking soda in a bowl of water.

Step 2: Put the mixture in the microwave oven and set it to heat for 3-5 minutes. This will ensure the grime within comes off.

Step3: Now remove the bowl and wipe off the grime within your microwave with the help of a damp and moist cloth.

Step 4: In case, the stubborn grime refuses to oblige, you can use the same mixture to clean the microwave interiors. But you need to be careful while performing the task, as the liquid will be hot. Dip one end of your wiping cloth into the liquid to prevent your hands from burning before you proceed to clean. The vinegar also acts as a deodorizer.

Step 5: Now use a fresh cloth to wipe the interiors dry before you use it again for your next meal.

QUICK TIPS
  • Gasket cleaning

Clean your refrigerator's gasket with mild detergent and water, not bleach. This will seal it properly and prevent wasted energy.

  • Window AC checks

Inspect the seal between your AC and the window frame to ensure it makes contact with the unit's metal case. Holes in the seal between the AC and the window frame allow cool air to escape from your room.

  • Cleaning cleaners

Clean the filter of your vacuum cleaner regularly or else your cleaner might become the dirt enhancer.
