Green electronics: The latest in displays
The VA 1918wm and the VA1928wm LCD monitors are energy-saving, eco-friendly screens

It's raining green devices, with Viewsonic announcing the launch of its two Green LCD monitors: the VA1918wm and the VA1928wm. The products are targeted towards the government and classroom segment.

Both- the VA1918 wm and the VA1928 are 19-inch LCD monitors that come with ECO mode, which is based on the Green LCD concept. The backlight module can be adjusted to Standard (100 percent), Optimize (75 percent), and Conserve (60 percent) lighting power. In addition, ECO mode also provides visual ergonomic benefits for prolonged display usage during the use of general computer applications (Conserve-Optimize), on-line applications (Optimize) and movies/games (Standard).

The VA1918wm and VA1928wm feature 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio. The 16:10 aspect ratio will allow users dual-page viewing and quick application navigation, while the 5ms ClearMotiv video response will enable viewing action videos.

"The need for energy saving multimedia desktop displays in India is rising exponentially. Today students and office users work extensively on monitor screens and simultaneously on multiple documents or applications. This prolonged usage calls for energy saving and eco friendly display solutions," said Mr.Gautam Ghosh, Country Manager, ViewSonic Technologies India. "By introducing these two new Energy Saving performance packed Green LCD's enriched with features typically associated with high-end displays, ViewSonic is making it possible for users to enjoy the latest in display technology without breaking the bank," he added.

The MRPs of the VA1918 and the VA1928 are Rs 10,500 and Rs 10,700 respectively, and each of them comes with a warranty period of three years.
