Epson's Stylus TX200 and Stylus TX400 are targeted at small-office and home user segment

Epson has announced the launch of the Epson Stylus TX200 and Stylus TX400 inkjet printers. These printers, claims Epson, offer small-office and home users a new level of high quality, hassle-free operations, utilising the space-saving convenience of a printer, scanner and copier in a single converged device.

The Epson Stylus TX200 is designed to operate with minimum fuss and instruction. On the top cover, users can find a set of control buttons for performing all the most-common functions such as setting the number of copies, selecting paper size, ink status monitor, and others.

In the Stylus TX400, the LCD interface communicates to users through a series of graphics to help users access a host of functions – from common features like monitoring printer status and ink levels, to more advanced print preview and image touch-up. The LCD screen is tilt-able.

In both the models, the users can plug in a PictBridge device or a memory card into the card slot bay, watch a preview and print directly at the tap of one button, all without the use of a PC.

The Epson Stylus TX200 prints at 34 pages per minute in draft mode and prints a single 4R photo in 19 seconds (draft mode, with border). It offers a resolutions of up to 5760 dots per inch.

The Stylus TX400 prints at up to 5760 dots per inch resolutions. It prints at 34 pages per minute (draft mode) for both black-and-white and colour documents.

Both the Epson Stylus™ TX200 and TX 400 come equipped with a 1200 dots per inch scanner which is more than capable of handling general A4 scanning jobs. Like printing, the scanning function can operate without the use of a PC.

Both of them feature a high speed copying function rated at 30 copies per minute (draft mode). The copier is also intelligent enough to automatically resize odd-sized copies into standard A4 size printout.

To help lower the cost of long-term operations, the Epson Stylus TX200 and the TX 400 come in a four- individual-ink-cartridge configuration. This allows users to replace ink cartridges only as and when needed, rather than having to completely change the entire ink cartridge when only one colour is depleted.

Both the printers have the Creativity suite. This suite includes Epson Easy Photo Print , which guides users through from selecting photos to printing, the Dust Removal Tool for zapping away dust particles found in digital images, and the Epson PhotoEnhance , for giving touch-ups.

The Epson Stylus TX200 is priced at Rs 5,999, and the Epson Stylus TX400 is priced at Rs 7,299.
