Philips has launched the Philips MCD988/98 Hi-Fi audio system with 3 speakers, including an active subwoofer offering a sound output of 5300 watts. This dual CD playing system is DVD/DivX/VCD/MP3/WMA/JPEG Picture CD compatible.

It comes with HDMI, component output, S-video output along with regular composite output connectivity options. It comes with DTS and Dolby Digital Decoder. The audio system creates more immersive sound effect from its 2.1 channel speaker configuration as its speakers are powered with Class D Digital Amplifier and Virtual Dolby Speaker technology. Philips’ latest audio system is also visually appealing with a top speaker that moves when mounted on its motorised head and adds the additional zing to surround effect.
