Bose launches SoundDock portable music system for iPods
Jan 29, 2008
Bose has introduced a new SoundDock portable digital music system for iPod featuring a host of its proprietary technologies that engineer a mesmerizing sound quality.

The new slim system combines waveguide speaker technology with neodymium transducers to deliver high quality sound. It also integrates system design to match amplifiers, equalizers and speakers for better acoustic performance.

According to the company claims, the integrated signal processing automatically adjusts the tonal balance as per the listening level; while the TrueSpace stereo signal processing circuitry widens the perceived acoustic image produced by closely spaced speakers to create a listening experience wherein music seems to emerge from a wider soundstage.

The system features active electronic equalization that balances the output of low, mid and high frequencies in order to reproduce music accurately, with natural tonal balance and clarity.

The other technologies include Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Circuitry, which maintains audio accuracy with greater consistency; compression circuitry that compresses the dynamic range of sound in order to prevent objectionable distortion; and the Bose proprietary vibration isolation system that isolates the iPod from harmful vibration while it is docked in the SoundDock.

The SoundDock runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery for approximately three hours at full volume or for much longer periods at moderate volume. The iPod gets charged when it is docked.

The Bose SoundDock portable digital music system for iPod is available in Gloss White and Black for a price of Rs 24,637.
