This also works on the flotation principle.

Air coolers are fitted with Cellulose Paper Pads or Synthetic Pads., having high water retention (wet-ability) capacity and are long lasting. They come in designs like Honeycomb to increase effectiveness.

In each air cooler, there is a water tank, motorized pump, fan and cooling pads. With the help of pump, water is pumped up from the water tank and through the water distribution system the water is dropped on cooling medium i.e. Wood wool Pads or Synthatic Pads. The blower/fan sucks the outside hot air and this hot air passes through wetted cooling media. The water evaporation takes place and air temperature drops. This cool air is then thrown inside the cooling area which in turn offers cool and fresh air.

Air Throw Rate (Air Flow Rate) is the average speed of air when it is leaving the air cooler outlet or opening.

This is more of a perceptible parameter. It indicates how much away from the front of the cooler one can still feel the flow of the air.

Air delivery is the correct parameter to look for if one is interested as to how much air is pumped out of any device. This is measured in volume (of air) per time, for example, cubic meter per hour or cubic feet per minute.

Castors are wheels provided at the bottom of the air cooler.

Castors allow the air cooler to be moved around easily, if required. Castor wheels are included in the price but trolleys require an extra cost.
