The all-time greatest mythology can now be replayed and experienced on the Web
Aug 13, 2007
Beginners can give vent to their gaming desires by starting with the just announced online video game on Indian mythological epic Ramayana. The Ramyana comic book has been announced by Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Comics, who have teamed up with Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) to bring the popular and most worshipped epic on to the gaming platform.

The deal was announced recently in New York by John Smedley, president of SOE - a global leader in the online gaming industry, Sharad Devarajan, the chief executive officer and co-founder of Virgin Comics, author and new age guru Deepak Chopra and filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.

Considering the huge worldwide platform on which this exclusive multi-year agreement has been made, this game promises to be a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game capable of supporting hundreds or thousands of players simultaneously based on Ramayana's mythological story.

Virgin Comics will serve as a creative consultant on the project and well-known filmmaker Shekhar Kapur of Mr India and Elizabeth fame will be involved in the development process.
